Cherub‘s Facebook accurately describes them as, “…the dance love child of 80′s funk and pop music from the future.” This electro-pop duo from Nashville, Tennessee, evokes high energy, passion, and a raging crowd wherever they go. “Doses and Mimosas” is their most popular track from their 2012 album, Mom & Dad. Producer Noah Hyde from Boise, Idaho, delivers a fresh synth-pop version of the track.
MNDR is an electro synth-pop duo from New York City consisting of Amanda Warner and Peter Wade. This Hollywood glam pop song is transformed into a chilled out, dreamwave track by Box of Wolves. It may be an unfamiliar name considering this producer submitted this remix as part of an MNDR remix contest. Although he didn’t win, this track is worthy of our ears and attention.
Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim are sisters from Los Angeles who know how to rock. Their sound resembles a mix of 90′s R&B mixed with 70′s Rock. In others words, if Destiny’s Child teamed up with Fleetwood Mac, their musical creation would sound similar to HAIM. Their debut album, Days Are Gone, released September 27th and has been a huge success. The girls have been touring and playing music festivals all around the world. This past weekend they performed Sunday at the Treasure Island Music Festival in San Francisco and absolutely killed it. “Falling” gets a funky electro disco remix from the UK duo, Psychemagik.
This electro reggae jam by British synth-pop band Hot Chip is taken to the next level by Diplo’s DJ project, Major Lazer. Their style can be characterized by combining components of electronic, reggae, dancehall, moombahton, dubstep, and trap. The remix is featured on Major Lazer‘s mixtape, Major Lazer Strikes Back, Vol. 1. Their sound can be described as indie pop with some dark wave elements. “Hurricane” is the title track from their debut album, Secondhand Rapture, released May 14, 2013. This track is remixed into an upbeat, Madonna-esque, 80′s pop ballad by the Scottish synthpop trio, CHVRCHES. Their debut album, The Bones Of What You Believe was released September 20, 2013.
This five piece indie pop group from New York City is in the midst of a breakthrough with their retro yet modern characteristics and vocals reminiscent of Steve Nicks. Haerts‘ debut EP, Hemiplegia, released October 2nd, was co-produced by St. Lucia and features aspects of 80′s throwback pop. Indie/electro/pop L.A. trio, Wildcat! Wildcat!, successfully remixed the track with perfectly infused synths and bass, elevating it to be better than the original. Catch Wildcat! Wildcat! on tour with MS MR, October 16th and 17th at the Troubadour in West Hollywood.
Pitchfork describes LA based indie rock band Local Natives as, “Afropop-influenced guitars with hyperactive drumming and hooky three-part harmonies.” After seeing them twice in concert, it’s undeniable that their passion, talent, and harmonies leave their audiences captivated and wanting more. “Breakers” is the first single from their second album, Hummingbird, which was released back in January. Superhumanoids remixed this track with melodic dream-pop sequences that make you wish like you were running on a beach in slow motion…Baywatch style.

The remix is featured as a bonus track on Boys Noize‘s debut album, Oi Oi Oi.
