Singapore singer Joie Tan and producer TEEMID have reinvented this truly timeless track by creating an EDM-esque musical style to accompany the original’s soulful and funky characteristics. The feminine vocals are perfection with a grooving bassline and deep house appeal. Covering one of the biggest hits in the last decade is no easy feat, but TEEMID AND Joie Tan have done “Crazy” justice.

From start to finish, “Youth” by Daughter is simply breathtaking. The remix starts out fairly similar to the original, a slow progression accompanied by effortlessly flowing lyrics and the hauntingly beautiful vocals of Elena Tonra. This five piece indie pop group from New York City is in the midst of a breakthrough with their retro yet modern characteristics and vocals reminiscent of Steve Nicks. Haerts‘ debut EP, Hemiplegia, released October 2nd, was co-produced by St. Lucia and features aspects of 80′s throwback pop. Indie/electro/pop L.A. trio, Wildcat! Wildcat!, successfully remixed the track with perfectly infused synths and bass, elevating it to be better than the original. Catch Wildcat! An oldie but goodie! This classy and catchy indie pop track by Feist is amped up to an electronic dimension by German DJ/producer Boys Noize. “My Moon My Man” was the first single off Feist‘s third album, The Reminder, released March 2006. The remix is featured as a bonus track on Boys Noize‘s debut album, Oi Oi Oi. This is an utterly and completely unique Arcade Fire cover from Mr. Little Jeans; the misleading stage name for Norwegian songstress Monica Birkenes. Originally the title song from Arcade Fire’s 2010 Grammy-Award winning album, ”The Suburbs” is transformed from an upbeat folksy piano-infused tune into a slow synthesized electro jam. The song is intensified even more with this filthy electro-dub remix from Crywolf. Hope you enjoy this addictive and slightly seductive cover.

The brain center behind The xx‘s composition of electronic drums and dark wave elements is accredited to their producer Jamie Smith, aka Jamie xx. Aside from remixing numerous tracks from The xx, he has also done some reworks for artists such as Florence and the Machine, Adele, and Radiohead. Jamie completely reconstructs this track from experimental singer-songwriter Glasser. The hiccuping vocals and bumping bass provide a tantalizing effect throughout the song that feeds the need to press repeat.

This song is guaranteed love at first listen. With the beautiful female vocals, brilliant percussion, and Four Tet flow, this remix demands attention. It’s tough to go wrong when you have a band composed of already successful and respectable names in the industry such as Radiohead‘s producer Nigel Godrich, Beck and R.E.M‘s drummer, Joey Waronker, along with singer/songwriter Laura Bettinson. According to their Facebook page, Ultraista was conceived from a love of afrobeat, electronica, art and inspired by tequila. Sounds just about right, enjoy.
