Hippie Sabotage – Stay High (Tov Lo Flip)

say high

The California brothers, Hippie Sabotage, took  samples from Tov Lo’s “Habits” and added some downtempo trap beats to create an emotional electric rollercoaster masterpiece. Tov Lov’s looped vocals are so beautiful yet sad at the same time. It is a story that anyone can relate to and identify with, which is part of why this track is so addicting.

LA artist Ghost Loft’s calming electronic track “Seconds” gets revamped by Australian natives Fozzey & VanC. The electro beats with the added hip-hop verses make the perfect combination to soundtrack anyone’s chilled out state.

“Suit & Tie” has certainly seen its fair share of remixes; however, Oliver Nelson puts a funky, chillwave twist to the pop hit that begs for attention. The nu-disco beats and decelerated vocals give the track more depth and frankly make it more enjoyable.

Singapore singer Joie Tan and producer TEEMID have reinvented this truly timeless track by creating an EDM-esque musical style to accompany the original’s soulful and funky characteristics. The feminine vocals are perfection with a grooving bassline and deep house appeal. Covering one of the biggest hits in the last decade is no easy feat, but TEEMID AND Joie Tan have done “Crazy” justice.

Radiohead – Everything In Its Right Place (Tensake Remix)

Radiohead

Quite possibly one of my favorite bands, Radiohead, has always made quality music. From debut album Pablo Honey to their most recent release King of Limbs, they have broken the boundaries of typical alternative music through exploration of the unfamiliar. From grunge-influenced tracks and guitar dominant instrumentation, to an experimental rock style influenced by kraut-rock, jazz, and 20th century classical music. This band continues to evolve and create amazing material with lyrical depth.

“Everything In Its Right Place” is the first track off of Grammy Award-winning fourth studio album, Kid A, released in October 2000. The track was written by singer Thom Yorke and produced by Nigel Godrich, who produced all their albums aside from Pablo Honey. The song is mainly electronic, featuring an electronic piano, a drum machine and computer manipulations of Yorke‘s voice. Thom and Nigel have transitioned their talents into another musical creation, Atoms For Peace, with Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea,  Beck/R.E.M. drummer Joey Waronker, and percussionist Mauro Refosco. German DJ/Producer Tensnake amps up the electronic feel with this house remix.

Aaron Smith – Dancin (KRONO Remix)

KRONO-Dancin

This remix will molest your eardrums and deserves a place on everyone’s playlists! French duo Mickael and David Couderc, aka KRONO, mixed reminiscent flavors of Alex Clare and Justice with distinct influence from Daft Punk. They improved the hot mess that was the original done by Chicago DJ/producer Aaron Smith and vocalist Luvli, and created a soulful, deep-house take on the track that will warm your soul in these cold winter months ahead of us. Now start dancin.

After a brief hiatus, RR is back in action! To kick off its return, here is a feel good, head bobbing hip-hop track from King Fantastic. The duo consists of  producer Troublemaker and currently incarcerated rapper Killer Reese One from Venice, CA. They describe their sound as west coast synthesizer beach bum gangster music.  Andrew Germer remixes the track by keeping the integrity of the vocals while giving it some extra bump, bounce, and boogie. Get your boogie on and enjoy the weekend with this free download.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Heads Will Roll (A-Trak Remix)

Yeah Yeah Yeahs 'Heads Will Roll' Single sleeve image

One of the best tracks for Halloween festivities has to be “Heads Will Roll” remixed by A-Trak. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs have always had some Halloween swagger with their edgy, post-punk, dance floor friendly jams along with Karen O‘s colorful and flamboyant wardrobe choices. A-Trak has always been on top of his game, from winning the DMC World DJ Championship at the age of 15, to being Kanye West‘s personal tour DJ, to founding his own record label Fool’s Gold Records, to being the other half of disco house production, Duck Sauce. A little warning, this remix is known to awaken the dead, so be ready to bust a move with them.

Coldplay – Fix You (Collin McLoughlin Remix)

Coldplay (1)

Remixing one of the most successful bands in the world is no easy feat; however, singer/songwriter/producer Collin McLoughlin stepped up to the challenge and put other Coldplay remixes to shame. McLoughlin‘s refreshing dub rendition of “Fix You” from Coldplay‘s 2005 album X&Y stays true to the original while featuring electronically driven builds, glitched vocals drops, and melodic bass. It’s nostalgia at its best. Simply ‘like’ McLoughlin‘s Facebook page and download the remix for free!

Daughter – Youth (Alle Farben Remix)

Daughter - Press Images - March 2012 - London

From start to finish, “Youth” by Daughter is simply breathtaking. The remix starts out fairly similar to the original, a slow progression accompanied by effortlessly flowing lyrics and the hauntingly beautiful vocals of Elena Tonra. Berlin native Alle Farben speeds up the track giving it a more bouncy, uplifting feel to it that will inspire the shit out of you. So close your eyes, let the sun rays tickle your skin and enjoy.
